Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital is hiring for a Full-Time Kennel Technician position.
Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 2001. This means that pet’s are being cared for by one of the top 12% animal hospitals in the United States and Canada.
General Job Duties: Kennel Technicians are responsible for the day to day care of patients and boarders. This includes but is not limited to feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing and monitoring the well-being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals. Kennel technicians must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects (up-to 50 lbs), and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. Excellent communication skills are a must to effectively communicate with doctors, staff and clients. High attention to detail and following protocol is essential. It is vital that they have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarded and hospitalized pets.
Skills needed: Friendly -Out-going -Positive attitude -Patience -Dedication -Responsible and reliable -Ability to handle and care for pets -Willing to work hard -Accurate record keeping -Understand and follow strict instructions -Be able to take direction well.
Job requires open availability (Monday – Saturday), must be flexible. Saturdays and Holidays a MUST, on a rotating basis.
Experience not required but preferred. Willing to learn? We are willing to train.
