Position Summary
We’re searching for a technical writer to join our team and contribute to maintaining our current documentation deliverables and standards. As a team, we are responsible for producing global documentation that supports the day-to-day efforts of our engineering and application teams. In addition, we ensure our documentation and training deliverables fully comply with the needs of our clients. The types of documentation our team is responsible for include:

End-user guides that include concepts, introductions, and task-based procedures

Implementation guides that describe how to configure the software for deployment

Workflow diagrams and overviews

Training materials (scripts, videos, and practical exercises)

Styles and standards

Context help embedded in the software

As an ideal candidate, you should have some exposure to software documentation as either a writer or a consumer. You should be able to evaluate and analyze complex information along with having a natural desire to help people understand complicated topics.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational requirements.
Translate complex information into simple, clear, informative, and engaging content.
Evaluate current content and identify areas for improvement.
Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content by working closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements.
Follow and enhance the in-house style guide to develop content with a consistent voice across all documentation.
Present various types of information, such as concepts, procedures, and examples/scenarios using a variety of formats.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in professional or technical writing, or in any educational field such as journalism, or English.
3-5 years of technical writing experience.
Proven ability to quickly acquire subject matter expertise on sophisticated software or another functional domain.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with other members of the team.
Experience working with key stakeholders to produce training or education materials targeted at a defined audience.
Experience using common authoring tools, such as Microsoft Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in using Madcap Flare as an authoring tool.
General experience with Microsoft technologies and tools
Familiar with the Agile development methodology.
Experience in using screen capture tools such as SnagIt or Capture.
Experience with CSS.
Experience in writing scripts/storyboards and producing online videos with tools, such as TechSmith Camtasia or Captivate.
